Leaders from the former Colonial and Osceola districts met in November and December to begin discussions of how the merged district will operate. Tentative plans will be firmed up by the new Narcoossee District Committee once it is officially established (in January 2024).
If you are interested in getting involved in the district-level leadership for the merged district, please reach out to Narcoossee District Chair Ron Randolph at Ron@RonRandolph.com.

Narcoossee District is starting an online archive of Eagle Scout Service Projects that have been completed by youth in our district. This online archive will be housed on the (new) Narcoossee District website at https://narcoosseebsa.org/. The vision of this archive is to be a space to share and honor the amazing projects completed by our Eagle Scouts while also providing aspiring Eagle Scouts with a resource for learning about projects completed in our local area. While contributing to the archive is completely optional, we hope you will encourage Eagle Scouts in your unit to participate.
Big thanks to Rajan Sambandam for being the first scout to contribute to the archive. Be sure to check out Rajan’s article about his Eagle Project “Forget Me Not Park” at this link: https://narcoosseebsa.org/index.php/2023/11/01/forget-me-not-park/
Here are instructions for scouts who wish to have their Eagle Project included in the archive:
Please share a written description of your Eagle Project (100 – 300 words) and up to 3 pictures to be posted in the Narcoossee District Eagle Scout Service Project Archive on the Colonial District website. It is absolutely fine to copy-paste text from your Eagle Scout Service Project Report! In your writeup, please be sure to identify the project beneficiary and explain what the project entailed, including the expected impact. You might also consider including details on the number of volunteers that supported the project and the total number of volunteer hours, why you decided to do this project, and what you learned about leadership through the project implementation. Submit via email to wendyscout2@gmail.com. ***Be sure to copy your parent on the email, to be in compliance with BSA youth protection policy.

The Central Florida Council is gearing up for a Great Camp Card Fundraising Campaign in 2024! The Camp Card Fundraiser is an excellent opportunity for Scouts to raise money for their unit and their programs by selling discount cards in their local community. These cards offer discounts to popular local businesses, and the proceeds from the sales go directly to support the Scout’s unit. The sale runs from January 18th through April 27th.
You can check out the Council Camp Card Webpage HERE for information and resources. If you have any questions, reach out to the council Camp Card lead, Cherise Czaban, at cherise.czaban@scouting.org.

Next Roundtable: Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 7:00pm
We would like to invite you to the Narcoossee District Roundtable, which will typically be held on the third Thursday of every month at Centre Point Community Church (9580 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL 32825). Doors open for gathering at 6:30pm, and opening flag is at 7pm. Roundtable is a great way for Scout leaders to share ideas, network and get information about our Council and District. Ideally, every unit should try to have at least one leader attend every month so that you can take what you learn to your Units!
This month’s January Roundtable will be held on Thursday 1/18/24. Program breakout groups will be offered for Cub Scout leaders and Scouts BSA/Venturing/Sea Scout leaders with focus on the following topics:
Cub Leader Breakout: Pinewood Derby, Blue and Gold, Crossovers, Webelos Woods, Camping
Scouts/Venture/Ship Leader Breakout: AOL outreach and Crossovers, OA new members, Summer Camp plans, Annual unit assessments
If you have any announcements or messages you would like to present or convey at Roundtable, please contact Mike Hockman, Roundtable Chair, at mikehockman1@gmail.com
