All adult leaders and scout parents interested in getting more involved in Scouting are invited to attend the Narcoossee District Roundtable, which is typically be held on the third Thursday of every month at Center Point Community Church<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> (<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>9580 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL 32825<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>). <\/span><\/span><\/span>Doors open for gathering at 6:30pm, and opening flag is at 7pm. Roundtable is a great way for Scout leaders to share ideas, network and get information about our Council and District. Ideally, every unit should try to have at least one leader attend every month so that you can take what you learn to your Units!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Online Training Opportunities. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>Here is how to get caught up with online training
\u2022 Take the online course for your registered position via <\/span><\/span><\/span>https:\/\/my.scouting.org\/<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>. Remember that if you change positions, you need to register for the new role and take the training for that role to be considered \u201cTRAINED.\u201d Visit <\/span><\/span><\/span>my.scouting.org<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> for all your online training needs!
\u2022 It is MANDATORY for every leader to be current with Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT). SYT must be renewed every year. A 20-minute refresher SYT course is available for persons who already completed the 90-minute SYT course and renew their training before expiration. The 20-minute refresher option goes away if SYT is expired for more than 1-week, and the 90-minute course must be repeated. Don\u2019t let it expire!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In-Person Training Opportunities<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>. Trainings offered via online courses are also sometimes offered as in-person trainings. 5. The Council has a new online tool for Eagle Rank Applications, which eliminates the need to mail paperwork until after the BOR is completed and provides support for completing the application and real-time tracking of status. \u00a0The tool and instructions for use are available at<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>http:\/\/eagleapp.cflscouting.org\/<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

6. To schedule an Eagle Board of Review (EBOR) with the district, a unit representative or the Eagle Candidate should send a request to the district advancement team at narcoosseeadvancement@gmail.com<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>. The request should identify possible available dates for the EBOR, and if known, provide a location and preferred time. <\/span><\/span>A Scout may make this request, but must have coordinated with and cc their Unit Advancement Chair when doing so. When requesting, please allow for enough time to obtain reference letters, and provide multiple dates to aid in ease of scheduling. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

August was a VERY strong start to popcorn season. \u00a0We have $84,479 in sales across 19 units with 132 Scouts selling so far. \u00a0Our top unit Troop 175 has an amazing $21,919 and they are 2nd in the entire Council! Our top Scout Zoey G. from Troop 4202 is rocking it with $5,053 and she’s also 2nd for the entire Council! \u00a0Friendly reminder that the only opportunity for returns is at the September Roundtable (Sept 17th), full cases only. \u00a0A reminder email will be sent out to our Popcorn Kernels as well. \u00a0If you need more popcorn, Brian is available on Thursdays at the Council office, you just need to fill out the form – <\/span><\/span>https:\/\/form.jotform.com\/262096500771052<\/span><\/a> \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
