BALOO stands for ‘Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation.’\u00a0In addition to enjoying adult fellowship and yummy food, these adults worked to increase their knowledge of how to help their cub units put on awesome camping events. Big thanks to event chairs<\/span><\/span> <\/span>Jeremy Jordan<\/span><\/strong> and <\/span>Josh Lueck <\/strong><\/span>and their amazing training team for putting on a top notch training. Also, <\/span>congratulations to Amy Jordan, who received her Wood Badge beads during the event. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Having BALOO-trained leaders in a cub scout pack makes pack campouts run more smoothly, and it is required for a pack to host their own overnight camping events (not district or council events). If you are interested in getting BALOO-trained, check out the upcoming BALOO trainings around the council in the training section of this newsletter.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n The Narcoossee District Cub Family Fun Day held in September was a fabulous success! Over\u00a0<\/span><\/span>400\u00a0youth and adults<\/span><\/span><\/strong> participated in a variety of activities, including archery, BBs, slingshots, raingutter regatta, bottle rockets, and visits from the Orange County Fire Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.\u00a0<\/span>Thank you so much to<\/span> <\/span>Brenda Jimenez<\/strong> <\/span><\/span>and her fearless pirate crew of adult and youth volunteers for putting on this awesome event.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n We are super excited for the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>2025 Scouting for Food (SFF) <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>service project! Thank you to all who have signed up to participate.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Important Dates:<\/strong> There will be\u00a0two\u00a0collection sites<\/strong>\u00a0managed by Narcoossee District: Both Narcoossee District collection sites will need volunteers. Troops are encourage to have 1-2 scouts help\u00a0with the drop off. If some troop scouts can help from 10:00-1:00 or any time during\u00a0this time frame, we are happy to sign-off service hours.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n It is also an option to take donations to Second Harvest Food Bank, but we will not have district representation there. Roundtable is a great way for Scout leaders to share ideas, network and get information about our Council and District. Ideally, every unit should try to have at least one leader attend every month so that you can take what you learn to your Units!<\/span><\/p>\n This month’s October<\/strong><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Roundtable\u00a0will be held on\u00a0Thursday, 10\/16\/25.<\/strong> <\/strong>This month will feature information on Renewals\u2014a review of steps for scouts, leaders, and units. Additionally, Scouting for Food bags will be available for pickup.
