Over 500 Cub Scouts and family members participated in activities including shooting sports, bottle rockets, rain gutter regatta, crafts, bounce house, tug-o-war, interacting with our local fire department and SWAT team, and learning some first aid and camping basics.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Kudos to the event coordinator\u2014Antonio DeViva\u2014and his amazing team of volunteer Scouts and Scouters. We are also grateful for event sponsors including Centerpointe Church (venue), RentAJumper (bounce houses), Mas Tec Communications Group (water bottles), Orlando Health (First Aid training), OC Fire Rescue (fire truck and crew), and Orange County Sheriff&#8217;s Office (SWAT vehicle and officers).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<!--[if mso]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<!--[if mso]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p>                            <span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&lt;!&#8211;            <\/p>\n<p>&#8211;&gt;<\/p>\n<p>              \t<!--[if mso]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<!--[if mso]&gt;--><\/p>\n<div><span><span><span><strong>Scouting for Food 2024<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<!--[if mso]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<!--[if mso]&gt;--><\/p>\n<div><span><span><span>We hope everyone\u2019s Scouting for Food bag distribution went smoothly yesterday. Next Saturday 11\/9\u00a0is food collection!\u00a0Please wait until\u00a0after\u00a09am to\u00a0begin collecting the bags in your unit&#8217;s assigned territory. If you find it necessary to drop off at Second Harvest, please email\/text one of the SFF Co-Chairs (see below)\u00a0with the number of ~7 pound bags your Unit collected.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThank you in advance to those who have volunteered to help out at the collection sites. Please stick around to help when you drop your collected items.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, we will need volunteers from each of the areas to act as runners to pick up bags that were not collected.\u00a0 (This typically happens because they were not set out in time.) \u00a0We will reach out to each of you individually should that be needed.\u00a0 Please have at least one runner identified. This can be done by the Key 3 (CM, CC, COR), Advancement Chair, or someone officially designated as a Key 3 delegate in<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gmail.us20.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=9fced714662e9a7c71161fe30&amp;id=a131cc26e1&amp;e=68fdc47dc0\">My.Scouting.org<\/a>\u00a0<span>via Organization Manager. To avoid duplicate countries, please contact Mike Hockman 407-920-1884 to let him know the country your unit will represent. Consequently, the Narcoossee District Webelos Woods is BACK ON for January 17-19, 2025. Narcoossee District is also working to plan a Spring Camporee event for Scouts BSA Troops. Stay tuned for details!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>                            <span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&lt;!&#8211;            <\/p>\n<p>&#8211;&gt;<\/p>\n<p>              \t<!--[if mso]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<!--[if mso]&gt;--><\/p>\n<div><span><span><span><strong>BSA Lifeguard Program Transition<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<!--[if mso]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<!--[if mso]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p>                        <span><span>Scouting America is transitioning away from the BSA Lifeguard certification program effective December 31, 2024. Moving forward,\u00a0Scouting America will be partnering with well-established certifying agencies such as the American Red Cross, YMCA, StarGuard Elite, and Ellis &amp; Associates to ensure local councils access to top-tier lifeguard training.\u00a0As part of this transition, currently certified BSA Lifeguard Instructors and BSA Aquatics Instructors will have the option to participate in a crossover course to become American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructors, if they choose.
