All members of the former Colonial District are invited to attend the banquet and join in the celebration.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n DISTRICT AWARD OF MERIT:\u00a0Alex Lewis<\/strong>, <\/strong>Crew 2319, Troop 631, and OA Chapter Adviser; Nydsomi Rivera<\/strong>, Troop 23;<\/strong>\u00a0Dominique Rodriguez<\/strong>, Pack 15 and Troop 175 ROUNDTABLE COMMISSIONER of the Year:\u00a0Rick Currey<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n The patch displayed in the photo\u2014designed by Ruth Currey\u2014received the most votes at the Narcoossee District April Round Table meeting and will be our official Narcoossee District patch. Thanks to all who attended the Round Table and cast a vote on the design options. And thanks to the amazing artists who submitted designs. It was a tough decision, as the three options were all amazing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Here is Ruth\u2019s explanation of her thoughts in designing the patch: I tried to incorporate aspects of both districts from their logos and patches while also bringing in the new components. For Osceola, I tried to incorporate the knots that used to surround the perimeter of their image. I tried to take the central stream idea from the Colonial patch, and I incorporated the theme of orange groves from several different council patches that have been created over the past few years. Then, I added the bear to the center to stand as our new identity*.\u00a0<\/p>\n *The name \u2018Narcoossee\u2019 comes from the Creek Indian word for \u2018black bear.\u2019<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Dr. Phillips Charities has established a matching grant fund at the Central Florida Council to which Eagle Scout candidates may apply for partial assistance to fund their Eagle Scout Service project.\u00a0Only projects located in Orange, Osceola & Seminole counties will be considered for approval.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0The Eagle Scout Project Proposal should include completion of the Preliminary Cost Estimate and, if approved by Dr. Phillips Charities, where you will get the matching funds. This event is designed to support unit leaders (including youth leaders) with learning about local opportunities for Scouting units in preparation for the 2024-2025\u00a0Scouting year. Please join us for this special once-a-year event!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Our District and Council will be hosting tables, so you can be informed\u00a0and make the most of the resources available! Come learn about\u00a0events and training on the district calendar, the Eagle process, how to become a Merit Badge counselor, how to get involved in the Order of the Arrow (OA), the provisional program for Summer camp at Camp La-No-Che, awards Scouts and Scouters can work on throughout the year, and more. Don’t forget to grab a hot-off-the-presses copy of the Council Program Guide!<\/p>\n Program Launch is also a great time to connect with our District Executive\u2014Shauna Prince\u2014 to confirm or update your unit information (e.g., meeting day\/time\/location, Key 3 leaders for 2024-2025) and discuss your Unit’s needs.\u00a0<\/p>\n The bottom line is that this is the event you do not want to miss because attending will help you provide “unparalleled experiences for more youth.”<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n All Scouts and Scouters who were affiliated with the Colonial District in 2023 are encouraged to attend!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Questions about the banquet? This event\u00a0brings together Scouts and Scout families throughout Central Florida to honor last year\u2019s Class of Eagle Scouts for achieving the highest rank in Scouting.\u00a0 We also recognize outstanding adult Eagle Scouts with the National Outstanding Eagle Scout Award, and local Scouters for their contributions to the Scouting program with the Silver Beaver Award, the highest council-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The 2023 Eagle Scouts ticket is complimentary and additional reservations for family and friends may be purchased online only.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n More information and ticket reservation: \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Cub Scout Day Camp offers all Scouts a fun, exciting, and productive week of Scouting for boys and girls\u00a0entering<\/strong>\u00a01st through 5th grade.<\/strong>\u00a0Week-long camps are being held during various weeks in May, June, and July at different locations throughout the Central Florida Council.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Regardless of location, day camp will be a\u00a0fun-filled week with a focus on Outdoor Adentures! Our Volunteer Directors are hard at work developing a program with FUN and unique ways to learn and enjoy the great outdoors. Cub Scouts receive a patch, t-shirt\u00a0(2 FREE SHIRTS IF REGISTERED EARLY!)<\/strong>, and all program materials with their registration fee. Cub Scouts are expected to wear their camp t-shirt every day during camp. This course is for youth 13 years and older who are involved in the Scouts BSA, Venturing, or Sea Scouts program. Scouts must be First Class rank or higher, have a unit leader recommendation, have completed ILST, and have prior experience camping at a summer camp or other week-long program.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is the ultimate Youth Leadership Training available in the Council! It is an exciting, action-packed course designed to provide youth participants with the leadership skills and experiences they can use at home, at school, on the job, and at their Unit level. AND spots with non-AC accommodations have been added to the original week, July 7 – 13.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Eagle Week is an intensive one-week experience for Scouts BSA youth focused on Eagle-required Merit Badges.\u00a0Participants take Eagle Merit Badge programs of their choosing in the morning and afternoon, and in the evening are invited to engage in special Troop Time Activities arranged through various camp program areas including: Adventure Camp, Aquatics, & Shooting Sports.
