We thank Matt for his 20+ years of service to Scouting, especially his most recent service as a professional Scouter for the Colonial District. You will be missed, Matt! We wish you the best in your future endeavors.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n The Central Florida Council is gearing up for a\u00a0great Popcorn Campaign<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a02023<\/strong>…new products, new product packaging,\u00a0new prizes \/ experiences, and\u00a0even\u00a0more pre-scheduled\u00a0show n sell locations\u00a0plus much more…In addition, we are excited to announce our continued relationship with Publix and our new relationship with Winn Dixie!\u00a0 This will be a game changer for your Fall Popcorn Campaign.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Visit the council popcorn hub at <\/span>https:\/\/www.cflscouting.org\/popcorn\/<\/a>\u00a0<\/a>to access the 2023 Popcorn Information packet as well as print and video resources to support your unit’s popcorn sale.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Also, be sure that your unit takes the following ACTIONS: <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Attention all registered Merit Badge Counselors! Please check your Scoutbook account to verify that you are ‘assigned’ to serve as a Merit Badge Counselor for all of the Merit Badges that you wish to counsel. With recent system updates, it has come to our attention that for some Merit Badge Counselors, Merit Badges were dropped; and there is not an easy way to know what was previously listed but is now missing. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In order to restore Merit Badges that have been dropped (or to add new ones), please email Michelle Adamick<\/a> a Merit Badge Counselor application along with a copy of your current YPT certificate. On the application \u201cAdd\u201d the merit badges that are missing in Scoutbook.<\/p>\n We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n It is the time of year in Colonial District for every unit’s Key 3 to schedule a meeting with our District Executive Brian Gorman to\u00a0discuss plans for Fall Recruitment and chat about your specific unit. A unit’s Key 3 leaders are the Chartered Organization Representative, Committee Chair, and Scoutmaster\/Cubmaster\/Venture Advisor. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n These Key 3 meetings are very important because they allow time and space for the District to listen and game plan with each unit regarding needs and the details of the unit’s specific yearly program. More information and registration for each event can be accessed through the council calendar,\u00a0https:\/\/www.cflscouting.org\/calendar\/<\/a><\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Cub Scouts<\/strong> Scouts BSA<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n We would like to invite you to the Colonial District Roundtable, which is typically held on the 3rd Thursday of every month at Centre Point Community Church (9580 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL 32825<\/a>).\u00a0Doors open for gathering at\u00a06:30pm, and opening flag is at\u00a07pm. Roundtable is a great way for Scout leaders to share ideas, network and get information about our Council and District. Including new in Summer 2023, Pop-up Merit Badge Experiences! There are times available on an occasional Tuesday or Thursday in that timeframe as well. <\/span><\/span><\/span>If you are part of your unit’s Key 3, please work with your unit’s other Key 3 leaders to identify a 20-25 minute block on the sign-up when all or most of you will be able to schedule this meeting with Brian. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Take the online course for your registered position via https:\/\/my.scouting.org\/<\/a>.\u00a0Remember that if you change positions, you need to register for the new role and take the training for that role to be considered \u201cTRAINED.\u201d Visit my.scouting.org<\/a> for all your online training needs!

There are other courses (e.g., BALOO, IOLS, etc.) that are ONLY offered\u00a0in-person.\u00a0You\u00a0may\u00a0attend trainings hosted by Colonial District or any of the other Districts in the Central Florida Council.
