The Eagle Project Workbook review process and District approvals will have the option of personally meeting with a District Advancement team member by appointment. As in the past, the Life Scout may decide to do this process electronically or in person.<\/p>\n \u00a02. Eagle Boards of Review will have an appointment system for the date and time. And they will all be held at the same location. Troops are encouraged to send their own representatives for their EBOR. If the Troop is not able to provide representatives, district representatives can be available.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n The Central Florida Council University of Scouting event is coming to Edgewater High School in Orlando on Saturday, January 28, 2023!!!<\/p>\n University of Scouting is an annual one-day supplemental training event for volunteer leaders, youth (age 11 and up), and parents at all levels in every Scouting program: Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, District, and\u00a0Council.\u00a0Whether you are new to the Scouting program or a veteran of many years, the University of Scouting has something for you! Scouts BSA and Venturing Youth can participate in youth training programs to enhance their skill levels and encourage them to explore new adventures in Scouting. Come spend a day having fun and learning with Scouters from across Central Florida Council and beyond.<\/p>\n This event is FREE to\u00a0scouts (ages 11 and up), Scouters, and parents associated with Central Florida Council, but\u00a0you must register to participate!<\/p>\n For more information\u2014including Course Catalog and Instructions on How to Register for Classes\u2014follow this link to the registration page:\u00a0https:\/\/scoutingevent.com\/083-UniversityofScouting<\/a><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n The University of Scouting (UoS) event team is seeking Adult Merit Badge Counselors to volunteer an hour or two of their time at UoS on 1\/28\/2023 to sit in the Merit Badge Lounge <\/span><\/strong><\/span>and help youth with completing merit badge partials.\u00a0The goal will be to have a scout come to the Merit Badge Lounge area with blue card and all materials ready to be signed off and go over with a counselor.<\/p>\n Scouts sometimes do not have the resources to finish their partials and we want to provide this new opportunity to see if this helps them.<\/p>\n If you are an Adult Merit Badge Counselor and can assist for an hour or two at UoS, please contact Michael Hockman\u00a0Mikehockman1@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0or text 407-920-1884.\u00a0Send a list of the merit badges you can assist with and the time slot you can volunteer. The sale begins February 2, 2023 and ends April 30, 2023. You can check out this year’s Camp Card in the pic below.\u00a0Thanks to all units who attended Virtual Kickoff events and pre-ordered cards in December!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n We’ve launched an app this year! If interested, participants\u00a0can come in on Friday evening and spend\u00a0the night with other Scouters\u00a0in one of our campsites.<\/p>\n This event is free, but registration is required. Roundtable is a great way for Scout leaders to share ideas, network and get information about our Council and District. However, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, and units\/families must bring and prepare their own food.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n Scouts BSA Save the Date!\u00a0 Colonial District will be teaming up with Eagle Empire District to put on an epic Titanic-themed Spring Camporee April 14-16, 2023. Please pass the word to all parents and volunteers that\u00a0our scouts deserve trained leaders. As unit leaders, imagine a pack, troop, crew, or ship with\u00a0100% trained leaders!

\n\u2022 Take the online course for your registered position via https:\/\/my.scouting.org\/<\/a>.\u00a0Remember that if you change positions, you need to register for the new role and take the training for that role to be considered \u201cTRAINED.\u201d Visit my.scouting.org<\/a> for all your online training needs!
\n\u2022 Every leader must be\u00a0Youth Protection trained. Don\u2019t let it expire!

\nIn-Person Training Opportunities<\/strong>. Trainings\u00a0offered via online courses are also sometimes offered as in-person trainings. There are other courses (e.g., BALOO, IOLS, etc.) that are ONLY offered\u00a0in-person.\u00a0You\u00a0may\u00a0attend trainings hosted by Colonial District or any of the other Districts in the Central Florida Council. Training opportunities within Central Florida Council available in the next couple months\u00a0are listed below. Visit the Council Training Calendar<\/a> to see all the training opportunities available within our Council. When you visit the calendar website, click \u2018Apply Filter\u2019 and check the box for \u2018Training\u2019.<\/em><\/div>\n
\nBy taking Wood Badge, Scouters will acquire valuable tools such as listening, communicating, conflict management, project planning and leading change. Participants will better learn to understand and appreciate diversity and differences in our society. They will learn skills that will make them a better Scout leader!
