Congratulations!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Luis Sanchez, Troop 111 <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n The Annual Colonial District Recognition Banquet will be held on May 25, 2023!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Come to the February Roundtable meeting to learn about this year’s district award categories and how you can nominate your unit leaders and volunteers for awards.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n 1. Life scouts who are ready for their\u00a0Eagle Project Workbook review and District approvals now\u00a0have the option of personally meeting with a District Advancement team member by appointment. The Life Scout can still opt\u00a0to\u00a0do this process electronically, if preferred.<\/p>\n \u00a02. Eagle Boards of Review (EBOR)\u00a0will now be held by appointment at a\u00a0location coordinated by the District. While the District will be coordinating the location,\u00a0Troops are still\u00a0encouraged to send their own representatives for their EBOR. If the Troop is not able to provide representatives, district representatives can be available.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <!– <\/p>\n –><\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Thanks to all who were in attendance at the Colonial District Merit Badge University held at Keiser \u00a0University on 12\/10\/22. Roundtable is a great way for Scout leaders to share ideas, network and get information about our Council and District. Ideally, every unit in our Council should try to have at least one leader attend every month so that you can take what you learn to your Units!<\/p>\n At this month’s February\u00a0Roundtable<\/strong>\u00a0on 2\/16\/23, we will be sharing information about how to NOMINATE your unit’s stand-out volunteers\u00a0for district awards! Come learn about the district award process and the specific award categories for this year.\u00a0Come early to enjoy dinner from the OA Grill\u2014see details in next announcement.\u00a0<\/p>\n This month’s program breakout groups will feature the following topics. Please bring your ideas and questions!<\/p>\n \tCub Scout Program Breakout: Are you ready for Crossover, Blue and Gold, Pinewood Derby, and change in leadership after Crossover?\u00a0Are your Cub leaders advancing in training and obtaining their knots? We will be discussing these questions as well as looking ahead to\u00a0Annual Planning and the Summertime Pack award.\u00a0 Looking ahead to next month…the March Roundtable meeting has been CHANGED to a week earlier\u00a0next month\u2014to 3\/9\/23\u2014so it takes place before the OCPS Spring Break holiday week. \n\u2022 Take the online course for your registered position via https:\/\/my.scouting.org\/<\/a>.\u00a0Remember that if you change positions, you need to register for the new role and take the training for that role to be considered \u201cTRAINED.\u201d Visit my.scouting.org<\/a> for all your online training needs!

There are other courses (e.g., BALOO, IOLS, etc.) that are ONLY offered\u00a0in-person.\u00a0You\u00a0may\u00a0attend trainings hosted by Colonial District or any of the other Districts in the Central Florida Council. \nCamping Outdoors Advanced Leadership Skills
\n“A Florida Scouting Skills Learning Adventure”<\/strong>
\nCOALS has been developed and designed to provide leaders with hands-on advanced outdoors skills and Scoutcraft that were taught in past Scouting Courses and apply them to today\u2019s Scouting Adventure.All registered leaders from the Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Exploring programs are invited to attend.\u00a0Youth over the age of 16, that have completed National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) are also invited to attend.<\/p>\n
\n– Session 2: March 18 – 19, 2023 @ Camp La-No-Che<\/p>\n

\nMarch 24-26, 2023, Camp La-No-Che<\/strong>
\nOpen to Scouts 14 years and older and registered adult leaders in all Scouting programs, this course\u00a0will give you an understanding of the impacts that we make when we are camping, hiking and using the outdoors.\u00a0 It will also give the youth the necessary tools to fulfill their duties in the NEW Outdoor Ethics Guide Troop Position of Responsibility.\u00a0Successful completion of this course will give you dual certification with both BSA and Center for Outdoor Ethics as Trainers.<\/p>\n
